Chris and his twin brother, Marty, were chosen for the roles of Niles and Holland Perry after a nationwide talent search. They were studying and appearing in plays at the HB (Herbert Berghof) Studio in NYC. Berghof (was it coincidence?) was the husband of Uta Hagen, who played the twins' grandmother, Ada, in the film.
