Awanui Simich-Pene

Awanui is a New Zealand-based filmmaker with more than 15 years of experience as a director and script supervisor in the local industry. She is best known for her contribution to WARU, directing TITTY & BASH, one of the vignettes which make up the award-winning portmanteau film. Awanui's other directing credits include prime-time TV drama HEAD HIGH and popular bilingual coming-of-age drama AHIKAROA, as well as the short thriller RU. Her script supervising credits include both local and international titles such as CREAMERIE, COWBOY BEBOP, and EVIL DEAD RISE. Show less «
