David Terrell was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. He is the oldest of his mother's five children. David attended Thomas Jefferson High School and was a highly competitive two-sport athlete in basketball and baseball. He was one of the highest ranked pitchers in the Los Angeles Southern League. Don Newcomb (Cy Young award winner), of the Dodgers, scouted several of his games and offered young David a walk on opportunity with the Dodgers. However, his good pitching skills and youthful arrogance led him to believe the Dodgers would wait on him, so after showing up two weeks late to camp, he was quickly shown the exit door. He learned a valuable lesson from that experience. David now lives life at full throttle. He went on to drive buses for 25 years with the Metropolitan Transit Authority, formerly known as RTD. Simultaneously, he danced on Soul Train for 9 years (1982-1991) and was considered one of Don Cornelius' favorite featured Soul Train line dancers. After retiring from MTA David began pursuing a career in the medical field, but after two years he put that on hold to pursue his life-long passion for acting on a professional level. With the help of a few acting classes and his natural acting ability he was on his way. He has appeared in numerous TV shows and films, including: Kevin Hart: Let Me Explain, Revenge, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Mann & Wife, Homeland, Act Like You Love Me, and In Mysterious Ways. In 2013 David was awarded the best supporting actor by the Asian On Film Festival for his role in the film Love Thy Neighbor, which was centered around the 1994 Rodney King riots. He has also appeared in several stage plays including Things That Make Men Cry and Kiss Me Kate.David continues to study his craft and pursue interesting and diverse roles. He looks forward to entertaining audiences in all genres of TV, film, and stage. Show less «
