Actress Elizabeth MacRae appeared in several motion pictures and on many television shows in the course of her acting career. Her movie roles included appearances in Francis Ford Coppola's The Conversation (1974), as well as parts in For Love or Money (1963), The Incredible Mr. Limpet (1964), Everything's Ducky (1961) and others. On television, for three seasons, she played Gomer Pyle's girlfriend, "Lou Ann Poovie", on Gomer Pyle: USMC (1964), and, for another three seasons, she played Festus's girlfriend, "April", on Gunsmoke (1955). She had guest-starring or co-starring roles on more than 50 television series, including Barnaby Jones (1973), Kojak (1973), Mannix (1967), The Fugitive (1963), Dr. Kildare (1961), The Andy Griffith Show (1960), I Dream of Jeannie (1965), 77 Sunset Strip (1958), Surfside 6 (1960) and numerous other shows. MacRae studied acting in New York City, with Uta Hagen, at the Herbert Berghof Studio and at the Art Student's League. MacRae was born in Columbia, S.C., and raised in Fayetteville, N.C. She was educated at the Holton Arms School in Washington, D.C. Scripts and audiovisual material documenting the acting career of Elizabeth MacRae.
