Gino Clarisimo D'Cafango was born in Juneau, Alaska to Barbara (Ebona) and Aubrey D'Cafango, a ship captain. His mother and father took D'Cafango to many films while growing up and his interest in acting and filmmaking grew.He studied acting under coach Earl Kelly of the Piccoli Junior Theatre in Seattle, who had Gino practice fencing while also reciting the Greek alphabet and classic lines as they sparred: "Man is by nature a political animal," by Aristotle, and "The beginning is the most important part of the work," by Plato. He also conducts an ongoing study of the teachings of Stella Adler whom he greatly admires.He began acting on the Golden Globes and Emmy Award winning Universal/CBS series "Northern Exposure", which led to staying on three consecutive seasons (72 episodes). He refers to his tenure on "Northern Exposure" as a joyful experience and his film school. Gino began working on feature films, "Disclosure" (1994), "Georgia" (1995) and "Chinese Coffee" (2000), directed by Al Pacino. He also began writing original feature screenplays and has since adapted the works of bestselling authors, Richard Bach and Paulo Coelho.
