Koen De Bouw

Award-winning Belgian actor Koen De Bouw (1964) studied for a career in theatre at the prestigious Antwerp Studio Herman Teirlinck where at that time both film and theatre seemed to be opposite worlds.In his graduation year however he had the opportunity to play a supporting part in a Dutch local film. It was an overwhelming experience that changed his focus from theatre to film and television completely.Since then he played leading parts in more than 30 Belgian and international films as well as a similar number of television series, several of them internationally awarded. Directors Jan Verheyen and Erik Van Looy, both household names in the Belgian industry, continue to cast Koen for the lead in their numerous productions.Drama, comedy or romcom, whatever genre involved, he keeps outranking himself as an actor. Audiences love his award-winning characterization of Jasper Teerlinck, the enigmatic lead of the successful series "Professor T", which has been remade in both France and Germany. Show less «
