Lauran September was born and raised in Bardstown, Kentucky and spent five years studying and performing Improv and sketch comedy in Chicago with The Second City and iO (formerly improv Olympic). She can been seen opposite Amy Adams in HBO's_ "Sharp Objects" (2017)_. She has guest appeared in ABC's The Muppets.
