Nathan Dales was born a raised in Calgary, Alberta. He attended theatre school at The American Academy Of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles and graduated in 2007. He got his start in a stage production of Kenneth H. Browns: The Brig "The Brig" is a story about American soldiers held in an American military prison. The story is set in Japan circa 1957.
