Samuel Haun grew up in East Texas with a very artistic family. After graduating from Longview High School, he traveled the world as a steel worker building satellite earth stations. In 2001, he joined the United States Navy and served directly in the Joint Task Force Horn of Africa campaign aboard the USS Mount Whitney. After serving in more than 25 cities and in over nine countries, he returned home with an honorable discharge and the desire to put his life experiences towards a new passion of film making.A self-taught Texas film maker, Haun started his own video production company in early 2006, the same year his son Ayden was born. He directed and produced music videos, documentaries, television commercials and short films for festival circuits. He developed a strong knowledge of how to construct heavy visual environments with the resources around him, and often without the luxury of financial support.Haun's music video "Firestorm", for the band The Vehicle Reason, was featured by Sennheiser USA as a worldwide premier. "Hank and Jim", his dark comedy short film, premiered at the Blood Bath Film Festival in Dallas, TX. These projects allowed him to find his own natural style with limited resources and only a few talented crew members. He truly began developing his skills as a Director and Cinematographer by working as a photographer & camera operator on features "Boggy Creek", "Humans VS Zombies", and "Bernie" and as Director of Photography/2nd Unit Director for the independent feature, "Patient Zero". In early 2012, he directed the opening title sequence for William Kaufman's "One in the Chamber", a film starring Cuba Gooding, Jr. and Dolph Lundgren.Haun's strong networking skills allowed him to work with many great Texas film makers including Richard Linklater and William Kaufman, experiences which inspire Haun to push himself artistically by trusting his instincts to reach his unlimited potential. The end result is ongoing but has produced a new artistic focus through the works of his most excited project and feature length directorial debut in "Project 112." January 13, 2012 Show less «
