Sandra Godsey

Sandra Godsey was born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia. Her mother Hilda Romero de Méndez is a jewelry designer and her father Jorge Méndez was a successful plastics manufacturing entrepreneur. 'Sandy' was the nickname given to Godsey by her three brothers, her sister and many of her family and friends. She was raised Catholic and attended Colegio Britanico, a private Spanish and English bilingual school in Bogotá. Her passion for acting was discovered at the age of 14 while participating in a school play. Afterwards, she attended acting and modeling courses which led to appearances in various television programs and modeling shows.Godsey studied Fashion Design at a university in Colombia for four years. When the opportunity arose for her to study outside of her home country she took advantage of this and she and her sister Martha left for Italy in 1990. Sandra's father was reluctant to let his 'baby' leave their close-knit family for studies in Europe but soon gave her his full support.In Florence, Italy, Sandra studied Arts and Fashion Design at Arte Moda during the early 1990's. She later moved to Paris where she worked with well-known fashion designers André Courrèges and Popy Moreni as well as worked with some of the top fashion models of the 1990's. She then returned to Bogotá five years later where she and her mother started a business called Art Shop Design. Four years later her father became terminally ill and after he died the shop was closed. Sandra and her father were extremely close and his death was especially devastating for her.In 2006, after a one year courtship with the man who would become her husband, Sandra moved to Nashville, TN. She began taking English classes and doing some modeling, including an appearance on Channel 4. Encouraged by her family and friends, Sandra made her United States television debut on the ABC program Nashville as a featured extra. She also has filmed the movies Elizabeth, Boulevard, The Identical and Anyone's Ghost. Additionally, she has appeared in various industrial training films and can be seen in commercials for Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Whitehardt, Inc., and American General Life & Accident.When Sandra is not working she enjoys gardening, painting, decorating, photography, gourmet cooking, watching movies, shopping, dancing, Zumba, taking walks with her husband and precious dog Latte and spending time with her family in Colombia on Skype or Tango!She moved to Florence-Italy in Europe and specialize in arts and Fashion Design, moving later to work in Paris- France with famous Fashion Stylist Designers such as" Andre Courreges and Poppi Moreni" and working with some of the most famous top model in the 90'safterwards She returned to Colombia and her mother and she started their own business called "Art Shop Design" they were open for almost four years, then they decided to close it, after her father had a terminal illness which eventually cost his death. This had a devastating effect in her life.Godsey came to the United States in April 2006, after dating the man who would become her husband for one year. She studied English lessons and after Soon she was presented with offers in modeling and some appearances for Channel 4.Later and encouraged by her husband, family and friends, she made her television debut in the show Nashville as a feature extra. She went on to begin her film career in: Boulevard, Anyone's Ghost, the identical and Elizabeth. She can also be seen in other industrial and commercials like cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Whitehardt, Gideon shoot, Agla video adds, etc.When she is not working, she enjoys gardening, painting, decorating, photography, gourmet gastronomy food, walking with her husband a her little baby dog" Latte", watching movies and also spending time with her family in Colombia by Skype or Tango!
