Given her Navajo name by the first Navajo physicist, Fred Begay, she worked as a geologist for the Navajo Nation the year before and has worked as a massage therapist on and off for the last 14 years. As an artist, she signs her work DezBaa, "she's going on a raid" in Diné Bizaad.Born in Santa Fe, and raised in Tierra Azul, N.M., she grew up in the tri-cultural area of Northern New Mexico.
