Sofia Sisniega is a Mexican-American actress. She is a graduate of The Stella Adler Studio's 3 year conservatory program in New York. Inspired by her father Marcel Sisniega, film director, writer and chess grand master, Sofia has acted in over 15 full length feature films, 16 theater plays and 8 television series. Since Sofia was raised traveling back and forth constantly between Mexico and the US, English and Spanish are both her native languages. Some of her movies are "Mujeres en el Acto" and "Arresto Domiciliario" by independent director Gabriel Retes, "Bacalar" directed by Patricia Arriaga and produced by Walt Disney Studios, "Get the Gringo" with Mel Gibson, "El Gringo" filmed in Bulgaria, starring Christian Slater, "Trading Water" with Carrie Ann Moss and Zoe Kravits, "Sundown" by Fernando Lebrija, "La Vida Inmoral de la Pareja Ideal" by Manolo Caro, "Qué Culpa Tiene el Niño" by Gustavo Loza, "Ladronas de Almas" by Juan Antonio de la Riva, among others. She also starred in the highly acclaimed Sci-Fi short film "Sundays" by Dutch director Mischa Rozema. Sofia recently finished shooting the movie "Hermanos Marquez Castillo" directed by Fer Rovzar and Mark Alazraki. She participated in "Los Minondo" a historic TV series for Canal Once and played the role of Luna in HBO's "Sr. Avila". Sofia played the lead role in Bienvenida Realidad produced by Sony International Television and the lead role of "Serena" in the Spanish version of "Gossip Girl" produced by Warner Brothers International Television. In "Club de Cuervos" seasons 1 and 2, Netflix's first original series in Spanish, Sofia portrays Paty Villa, Chava Iglesia's love interest. Soon she will star in three Blim series: "Entre Correr y Vivir", "Las 13 Esposas de Wilson" and "Sincronia". Theater has always been a part of Sofia's life. In New York and in Mexico she has performed in plays by Shakespeare, Eugene O'Neill, Anton Chekhov, García Lorca, Strindberg, Tennessee Williams, Sophocles, Oscar Wilde, Harold Pinter and others. In March 2017, she finished a long run of the classical dramatic play in verse "Don Juan" by Zorrilla at the Helenico, one of the most important and respected theaters in Mexico. She played the lead role of Doña Ines. This successful production was inspired by Fellini's movies. From March to May 2017, Sofia will be playing Viola in Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night" ("Noche de Reyes") at the well known Foro Shakespeare in Mexico City. Show less «
