Have we seen enough representation of African-Americans in stories? No. But has Hollywood been horrible to me? No. I've worked. Did I get paid what I deserve is the question we should be talking about. But I can't take that on; we know what the deal is, you understand? So I'm not gonna make it an issue. I'm not gonna say, "Oh it's hard for women--" I'm gonna work my ass off and hopefully the work that I'm doing will change things; we'll make it better for the next one comin' behind me, but while I'm in it, I can't talk about how hard it is or their not doing this for me because what happens is I'm blocking myself. So what I do is I work and you let me in, give me an inch, I'll take a mile. I mean, look at me now... I watch TV and I go, "Wow. They're saying 'Taraji' not 'Taraji P. Henson'"... So, you know, Hollywood has been incredible to me! See, I'm white, really I'm not black! Show less «
