An overweight, sad teenager that is frequently tormented by her mean mother. Bernie loves her father and gets along with him. In one case Deborah, Bernie's mother, buys her daughter clothes that are two sizes too small. Bernie is saddened by what she thought was an act of kindness from her mother was actually very nasty. Bernie cries all night but is happy in the morning when her clothes fit. Flor the new maid understood what had happened and let out some of Bernie's clothes so they would fit. Show less «
