Ezra Stone is Kane's loyal and trusted employee who is present during many of Kane's high-level meetings. Kane calls him Stone . He has many connections to make Kane's obstacles go away . He gave Kane a contact to supply him with drugs for his Lewy Body symptoms.Ezra had noticed Kane's increasingly unusual behavior, and at one point privately assesses that Kane is making decisions to preserve his power instead of to serve the city. Ezra could no longer justify doing dirty deals for Kane and felt since he helped put Kane in power, that he was responsible to help oust him. He did not reveal this until after Kane found out that he used a fake name of Rosebud to leak damning documents from Kane's father-in-law's archive to the Sentinel reporter, Sam Miller, nicknamed Chump.
