Kim is the faithful and devoted wife of Sgt. First Class Bob Brown and is a newcomer to the base at the beginning of the series. She is initially confused as to the rules that the army wives live by on base and does a variety of things to try to keep herself busy, including considering taking classes at the local college and eventually landing a job at the base radio station to bring in some extra income. Kim and Bob already have one child, a daughter named Selena, at the beginning of the series and she becomes pregnant with their second child during the first season.Despite being the youngest among the group of wives and seeming somewhat naive, Kim isn't afraid to speak up especially when she thinks something wrong is happening. Her moods can easily swing from fun loving to serious. This sometimes gets her into trouble. Molly, Jonas' wife, takes Kim under her wing and tries to show her around the ways of base life.Her closest friend on the base is Tiffy Gerhardt, but Tiffy's penchant for poor decision making sometimes strains Kim's ability to remain close.
