Veronica Guerin (July 5, 1958 - June 26, 1996) was an Irish journalist working for the Sunday Independent who was murdered in 1996 by Irish drug dealers. Guerin had started writing about Irish criminals and drug dealers from 1994, using pseudonyms to hide the real identities, but the majority of people in Ireland knew who she was referring to.
