Antarctica: A Year On Ice
Trailer
The film tells a true story as we have been plunging together on the bottom of the planet, in Antarctica, for a whole year. We will all know the whole story through those who spend most of the time there and through the day-to-day workers who keep the stations operating in the actually harshest place. This movie was shot over 15 years ago by photographer Frozen Planet Anthony Powell as it embodies many different tracks in a parallel world.

December 12, 2014 Way too much screen time is given over to folks describing what it's like to live in such a place, as opposed to, you know, actually living there.

December 04, 2014 Powell makes excellent use of time-lapse photography to capture such natural phenomena as a sea freezing over. What registers most strongly, though, is the sense of loneliness and professional drudgery.

June 13, 2016 Technically, it is far superior to an average installment of PBS's Nature, but it has the same general niceness and similar tacked-on messages.
