The film revolves around the 1945 period in Leningrad. It is these events that followed the Second World War that destroyed the city, demolished its buildings and left its citizens on a bad path physically and mentally. During that period, two young women are working to get things back when they search for meaning and hope in the struggle to rebuild their lives between the disastrous debris after that war.
