The film is about San Chi, a girl who guards the gate of the underworld and falls in love with a young man named Zhao Li. That girl lost part of her soul during birth and grew ugly and that is the main reason why Zhao Li refused to marry her. One day, San Qi found a boy named Zhang Xing live spirit living in the other world.
