Jeffrey Wigand started out as a researcher at the tobacco company, which is owned by businessman Brown and Williamson. Soon after he was fired by Brown and Williamson, this scientist was able to contact Lowell Bergman, a 60-minute producer who worked closely with journalist Mike Wallace. Things seem to be moving on a mysterious path when a research chemist is under personal and professional attack when he decides to appear in '60 minutes'.
