August 10, 2018 The film is restrained; it's not as gory as you'd expect. In a way, it's a throwback to the type of creature features produced during the 1950s, when giant bugs and thawed-out dinosaurs threatened mankind almost every Saturday afternoon.

August 10, 2018 The makers of The Meg may have gone to school on Spielberg, but the big-budget deep-sea thriller is nothing but bloodless summer filler.

August 10, 2018 It's never going to win an Oscar - unless the Academy starts giving out awards for Best Picture Where Jason Statham Fights a Shark - but if you're looking for some enjoyably bonkers summer-themed fun, here it is.
