The film tells about those full facts of the life of Hollywood screenwriter Dalton Trumbo. Dalton was living in the hope of more success as the first screenwriter in Hollywood but his ideas lead him to prison and blacklisting for his outspoken support for organized work and his membership in the United States Communist Party that brought many challenges.
