April 18, 2019 At its beat-up heart, Chimerica is a sprawling, unwieldy and ambitious take on a sprawling and unwieldy subject.

April 17, 2019 The two narratives seem oddly grafted, diverging in tone, but writer Lucy Kirkwood deserves some credit for not merely sticking to a western perspective.

April 17, 2019 This was a very promising opener: it's clever, sheerly satisfying writing.
