Melanie David

Melanie David is a multi talented singer, songwriter and actress originally from Boston, MA. She was born to immigrant parents from the small island of Cape Verde off the west coast of Africa. She credits her upbringing and culture for instilling in her the importance of respect and hard work. After graduating from Boston Arts Academy in Boston she moved to New York City to pursue her dreams. She has studied under the privileged tutelage of the best in the business. She has been mentored by Ankh Ra Amenhetep of MTV's making the band fame since 2009.In 2010 Melanie's brother David was murdered in Boston. In what was the singers darkest times she turned to her music to help her heal. Along with Ankh Ra she penned a heart felt song titled "One" about ending gun violence in our country. The singer became an activist against gun violence and her message has spanned to global stages. Most recently she has toured in the United Kingdom and Bermuda. Her work has been featured on MTV.com's Increase the Peace Blog and Nigel Barker is quoted as saying "Melanie has a voice like Honey."
