Robin Thede is a comedy writer and comedic actress. She is the daughter of Dave Thede, a teacher, and Phyllis Thede, Iowa House Representative. She has two sisters, Acacia and Mackenzie. She attended Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, earning a B.S.J. degree in Broadcast Journalism and African-American Studies. After college, Robin studied improv, sketch and comedy writing at The Second City in Chicago.She is a writer and former head writer for Comedy Central's The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore (2015). Prior, she was head writer on season one of The Queen Latifah Show (2013) and wrote on the first two seasons of the BET's hit comedy Real Husbands of Hollywood (2013). She also appeared in recurring roles on BET's Second Generation Wayans (2013) and Fox's The Goodwin Games (2013). She guest starred on Comedy Central's Key and Peele (2012) and appeared in the film A Haunted House (2013).Other credits include several years of writing for award shows such as: the BET Awards, BET Honors, UNCF: An Evening of Stars, BET Hip Hop Awards and the NAACP Image Awards -- including writing for numerous comedians/hosts, including, but not limited to, Kevin Hart, Jamie Foxx, Mike Epps, Anthony Anderson, Wayne Brady, Queen Latifah and Samuel L.
