The series follows the experience of Francesca Annis and Samantha Bond as they are a group of inspiring women in a rural community of Cheshire living in the shadow of World War II. One day, the rural English city finds itself on the brink of war, while women in society struggle to set aside their differences and restore a path of affairs to face all the ramifications of war in their village.
