These are the actual events that took place in 1963, where John Savage and Ted Danson wanted to wear civilian clothes in the US military to investigate a pair of strangely suspicious species. The plot appears to be going through an unwanted turn when a man kills Danson in cold blood, and Savage managed to escape and arrested the remaining men.
