Okay, I know that there have been many advances in filing, special effects, etc. but I wish they'd 'dumb it down' a bit so that it would be more like this 'prequel' to TOS would LOOK like it happened BEFORE TOS instead of being more advanced. Are we supposed to believe that the transporter became LESS advanced in TOS than in this series? Are we viewers supposed to not notice the inconsistencies? Yes, so far I like the show - but I have to grit my teeth and stop shuddering when more advanced things keep showing up in the (so far) 3TOS pre-quels!

Just started watching this newest series.Some observations: Spock's voice is reminiscent of Nimoy's but the age doesn't fit in with TOS as in TOS Spock and McCoy are much older than Kirk; Kirk is mentioned at the beginning but I don't remember him being a crewman with Pike; the Enterprise's bridge look far too advanced to be prior TOS. Will have to see what else I see that seems like it doesn't fit into TOS.
